There have been pictures of much larger rallies than this one, obviously, but it’s been in my mind ever since I saw it yesterday. It’s from Mombasa, Kenya, and the caption that came with it is reprinted below:

Tudor Muoroto is a large slum in Mombasa, Kenya. The people here have been living in unsanitary conditions for many years due to the lack of proper garbage disposal and toilet facilities. This 24th of October, the Nuru Tudor Foundation mobilized the youth of the community to clean up the garbage. The quality of living of impoverished Kenyans is often forgotten by our leaders and we wish to remind them that this environmental issue needs to be addressed. We hope you will join us to create a better future for the world!
