Quick Facts

1. 350.org spreads the most important number on the planet by building a global grassroots climate movement united by a common call to action.

2. 350 is the number that leading scientists say is the safe upper limit for carbon dioxide--measured in "Parts Per Million" in our atmosphere. 350 ppm--it's the number humanity needs to get back to as soon as possible to avoid runaway climate change.

3. Our goal is to make 350 ppm the benchmark for success for national and international climate agreements.

3. 350.org was launched in March 2008 by Bill McKibben and the team of young organizers behind last year's successful Step It Up 2007 campaign.

5. Our work is only possible because of our network of friends and allies around the world, including major international NGOs and local, grassroots organizations.
