*MA Regional Energy Revolution Rally*
Saturday, 24 October, 2009 - 14:00
Event Location / Address:
The Minute Man National Historical Park (adjacent to the Visitor’s Center at 174 Liberty Street, near the flagpole overlooking the Old North Bridge)
Event Description:
Walk, bike, carpool, or take the commuter rail to this Boston area climate rally at the iconic and historic Old North Bridge in Concord—the site of the opening battle of the American Revolution in 1775. This free rally will begin a 2 PM and end between 3 and 4 PM. Banners, signs, and colonial garb are welcome. Bring your friends, neighbors, and family to help us send a loud, clear message to the climate talks in Copenhagen in December. We are asking world leaders to reach a strong, binding climate agreement that will preserve a livable planet for our children. National, local, and state politicians, local minutemen, and numerous others have been invited to help us gain our energy independence from fossil fuels, as we shout the Emersonian cry to be heard ‘round the world: “Energy Revolution Now!” To get in touch with us you can email us at info@gwenet.org, view our website at www.gwenet.org, call 781-861-1400, or come to a meeting. Meetings will be held on September 24th and October 15th, at 7:30PM, at the Whole Foods Market on Great Road in Bedford, MA. Anyone who wants to come and share their ideas to make the day a success is welcome (please call us first to confirm meeting details).
