Turn the power OFF and NATURE ON!

Saturday, 24 October, 2009 (All day)

The idea is simple, yet effective. There are roughly one million people in Denver alone, and my idea is getting 350,000!!!! of them to GET OUT OF THE HOUSE! all day. unplug all the electronics, turn the heat off, leave the phone, and go outside! take the kids and do apple and pumpkin picking, go camping, do ANYTHING! except going into any store. stand out on the streets if you must! Just take the day to BREATHE! We are all so caught up in our societal lives that we truly believe we can't take a day away from outside contact! THAT'S RIDICULOUS! Join with a crew fixing trails near you, or go into your back yard and just relax and think about where you are in your life! Rediscover your passions! Also, to make this a true green movement, I request AT LEAST 350 people in the metro area to grab a backpack, stuff a nice big plant in there, get your butt on over to downtown, and PLANT THAT SUCKER! In reality, I would want EVERYONE to do so who doesn't have another idea in mind! There are a million right ways to go about this, but only one WRONG way! Just stay outside and If you MUST travel to your destination of choice, do so by ANY other transport other than a car! If you want to partake in the photo, be at Lawrence and 16th at 5 PM SHARP!
