RAIN OR SHINE! (Water would just make it that much more realistic & we’ve got to be ready!)
> Christopher Columbus Park downtown Boston (Aquarium T stop or Walk from Park Street on Red Line)
RIDE YOUR BIKE TO THE EVENT! VALET PARKING WILL BE PROVIDED BY MASSBIKE!
Gather en masse in downtown Boston's Christopher Columbus Park, on the waterfront (Aquarium T stop) to participate in positive attention-getting and imagination-catching activities. The focus will be on the iconic image of sea level rise to draw attention to the threat of global climate change.
Travel from community events to the downtown location will be an important part of the day. Costumes, floats and theatrical events will draw attention to 350 and increase attendance. Participants in many morning 350 events will make their way independently (by foot, T, bicycle, roller-blades, canoe, and decorated vehicles) to downtown Boston.
-- A race to build a wall of sandbags to protect Boston from rising sea levels and stronger storms!
-- A massive group photo in front of the sandbag wall with a banner calling on world leaders to get us back to 350 and to pass a fair, ambitious and binding climate treaty this year.
-- Beach and water games!
-- Participatory Climate Theater!!
-- Relay racing!!
-- Flooding Station: learn about what sea level rise and higher storm surges will mean for Boston
-- Plus blue face-painting, bike-flag making, and more!

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
