***Utah's 350.org Day of Action for Climate Justice***
24 October 2009 - 2:00pm
This event is going to be AMAZING! Climate disruption is an issue which threatens us all -- that is why we have formed an inspired coalition of local leaders, from environmental to social justice organizations and more, to make sure that our OCTOBER 24 event is as impressive, fun, and powerful as possible. We will be staging the event on Library Square, in downtown Salt Lake. This will be an interactive experience -- attendees are going to be active participants in this call to world leaders to take bold action at the Copenhagen Climate Summit in December. We will be treated to national and local bands, hands-on art projects by local artist visionaries, vendors, and nationally renowned speakers. There will even be a bicycle parade leading to the event! (See 350 Climate Ride listed under Salt Lake City events) The festivities will culminate with an action involving the entire crowd at 3:50 pm. We will form into the shape of "350", as well as a surprise that Copenhagen -- as well as ourselves -- will never forget.
We expect at least 400 participants, perhaps many more. If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, would like to be more involved with logistics/publicity, or would like more information, please contact Ashley Anderson at c.ashley.anderson@gmail.com.

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
