*Pedal back to 350*
24 October 2009 - 10:30am
We meet at:
1030am, 24th of OCTOBER
AT THE MELBOURNE MUSEUM (Rathdowne St carpark)
So sketch that in you diary (and someone else’s!)
We are going to ride in MASS through the city in conjunction with millions of people from all over the world voicing their concerns for our future and demanding stronger action on responding climate change. We will ride our mighty bikes through the heart of Melbourne city.
This will get the message out there that Australians, along with the rest of the world, are deeply concerned about climate change and that we demand a safe future for generations to come.
The 24th of October the 350 campaign will unite a global voice and compel international governments to set strong targets for December's UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark.
During the ride we will construct a MASSIVE human/bike sign: enforcing the 350ppm target and photographing it to send to the world leaders in Copenhagen.
Invite as many people as you can to this event. Tell all your friends, family, strangers and their friends. Lets make this huge! Let make the change we so desperately need to see in the world! And lets have loads of FUN!

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
