Vigil in Minneapolis
11 December 2009 - 4:30pm - 6:30pm
NOTE** Although the date mentioned says this event is on the 11th, this event is happening on the 10th. (There was no selection available for the 10th)
Event info; This Vigil is being held in conjunction with Youth Environmental Activists of Minnesota's Bi-monthly metro-wide meeting of it's unique collaboration of High School activists in over 25 different High School environmental groups. There will be Danish-themed food, and presentations about Copenhagen's significance, as well as live skyping with our friends on the ground in Copenhagen to get some live updates, hear their opinions, and learn what would be most helpful for us to do as individual students and activists!
We appreciate all the efforts of Southwest High School to host this event, and all the organizers from across the metro, ranging from students from Apple Valley's School of Environmental Studies, Hopkins High School, Stillwater Area High School, Osseo High School, and others.
Organizations such as the Alliance for Sustainability, Transit for Livable Communities, among others will be represented.

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
