Vigil in Ottawa

Over the next two weeks, world leaders will negotiate the most important agreement of our time – one that must stop a climate catastrophe. But they will only aim as high as we demand. That's why on the weekend of December 12th we will gather at thousands of climate vigils in every corner of the planet to send a clear message: The World Wants a Real Deal!

Around the world people will gather in their communities, and will light candles of hope to stand in solemn solidarity with the citizens of the nations whose very survival is threatened by the climate crisis.

The SLOWest vigil will take place from 4:30-5:30 on Saturday December 12th on Westboro Beach (map below). Bring your family and friends, your hopes and your prayers and join us. Bring along a candle or two if you have one, if not there will be some to share.

As of today, 1,750 events are planned in 110 countries. Seven are planned in Ottawa, one of 245 Canadian cities taking part.
