Vigil in Washington
12 December 2009 - 6:00pm - 7:00pm
Call for "Action not Rhetoric" at the UN Climate talks in Copenhagen!
Climate change is a fact and countries and people will be faced with the threat of rising seas, spreading drought, and temperatures too hot for growing food. But right now--this year, this decade--there are countries being pressed to the brink. They're at the forefront of a fight for real change in Copenhagen, and need your help to amplify their voices.
Mid-way through the climate talks in Copenhagen people around the world will gather to light lanterns or candles, in solemn solidarity with the citizens of those nations who will be first to face the challenges to their very survival.
Join us here in WASHINGTON DC!

Climate Plan B:The Ark
The World Wants a Real Deal
Please join us for a Rally and Candlelight Vigil at the Ark
Saturday, December 12th, 4-5:30pm
National Mall between 12th St. and 13th St. - Near Smithsonian metro (blue/orange)
Yes, we are building a 60-foot-long Ark on the National Mall to highlight the scale of calamity that climate change poses to communities across the globe. An Ark is the only alternative to a real deal in Copenhagen. The Climate Plan B Ark will remain open to the general public as a message wall after the event, so make sure to stop by!
We also need help with Ark Construction and other activities from December 9th-11th. Sign up to volunteer on the website.

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
