"Sounds of 350 Event" in Nelson

The Kootenay Shambhala Meditation Center (KSMC) will host a "sounds" gathering on Sunday, December 13, 2009 to show our support for a binding climate change agreement. During this gathering, we will have a brief time for silent meditation and contemplation at the beginning and end of the practice, and some chanting practices designed to clear obstacles to the path we are supporting. The practice will include 350 recitations of a mantra from the Heart Sutra. This sutra helps to dispel fixed modes of thinking. The practice will begin at 1 pm and last for about an hour. Afterwards, there will be a tea for attendees. The practice and contemplation will take place at the KSMC center, 444 Baker St., 3rd Floor, Nelson.
