Chalking in Hutt Valley High
Friday, 23 October, 2009 (All day)
Surprise chalking after school on the Thursday (22nd October 2009) before the schools' day of action (Friday the 23rd of October 2009). Had an representative (Fiona) from 350 New Zealand to speak in our school assemblies (held on Wednesday the 21st of October 2009). Some students speaking in some assemblies on the day of Action (Friday the 23rd of October 2009). We are having a mufti day on Friday (the 23rd of October 2009) so we asked in the assemblies (on Wednesday the 21st of October 2009) if people could support the earth by wearing a green or blue item of clothing.
Some of our chalking included a 350 square hopscotch (Antonia's idea), a large earth with 350 in the middle, and because Friday (the 23rd of October 2009) happens to be our mufti day to raise money for the schools in Samoa (organised by the Pacifica group) we also chalked some Samoan flags and slogans promoting donations to the cause.
