350 mantras with Khadiravan
Saturday, 24 October, 2009 - 14:20
My friends and I will be chanting 350 sanskrit mantras from the ancient Krishna yoga texts for consciousness transformation on the 24th October 09 accompanied by east-west fusion live music - indian organ, drums, guitar, bass, and vocals of course.
Part 1: Time: 2.20-2.45pm
At the 350 Climate Action Festival on the Wellington Waterfront. We'll be on the stage there amongst other bands performing.
Part 2: 5.30-7.15 at our regular kirtan yoga night ($10) at Gaura yoga, 175 Vivian St Wellington, followed by shared vegan snack.
The inspiration for this action is that mantra meditation from the bhakti yoga tradition - yoga of gratitude for Krishna, source of all energies - gives me a deep, heart satisfaction that automatically frees me up to live in a voluntarily simple way, a wholesome back-to-roots way, where family, friends, good food, good music is enough...I just don't want or need anything else....which translates into a dramatically reduced carbon footprint (minimal international/domestic travel, shared minimal local travel, vegan diet, minimal consumption of mass produced goods, zero endorsement of alcohol/drug, meat/dairy industry). The secret super-practical power of yoga huh.
Thanks, please come share this action for 350 with us!
