and the ![]()
There's a global mobilization—organized by many different groups in the TckTckTck coalition and the Global Climate Campaign—planned for the weekend of December 12 - right in the middle of the Copenhagen climate conference.
There will be big rallies on Saturday in many cities around the globe, and on Sunday communities of faith the world over will ring church bells, beat drums, blow horns -- all 350 times.
At 350.org, our focus for the weekend is on coordinating candlelight vigils at iconic and strategic locations around the world on Friday and Saturday night. Read the invitation from Bill McKibben here, and and sign up to organize a vigil in your community by clicking here and sign up to search for a vigil by clicking here.

What's next?
On the 24th of October, people all over the world unleashed a mighty movement for 350 -- organizing over 5,200 breathtaking actions all around the world, and resulting in over 20,000 action photos. Take some time and look at the pictures, and once you've done that, we need your help.
At the end of 2009, countries will meet in Copenhagen to craft a new global treaty on climate change. It is up to us to make sure that treaty is as strong enough to meet the latest science. The best way to do that is to be sure that world leaders hear this message and that the pressure continues to grow.
In the coming weeks, please join us to keep the pressure on and get the 350 message straight to decision-makers world-wide. A movement is like a bicycle--it needs to keep moving. And you are providing all the power.
Here are some actions you can take...

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?
