The Natural Step Monona’s Letter-Writing Campaign: Pressing Our Leaders for Action, Now

Sunday, 10 October, 2010 - 13:30 - 15:30

Because leaders at all levels have failed to take the necessary bold actions that our climate crisis demands, we will hold a letter-writing event to make it easy for people to tell those leaders what they think. Just come to the library, and members of The Natural Step Monona and our action partner, Project Home, will help you with whatever obstacle is in your way – whether you need help putting your ideas into words, a list of bullet points about climate change, a computer to type on, or someone to type for you – and you can be part of making letter-writing a fun, community activity.

We’re mobilizing, armed with our laptops. Please join us in holding our leaders accountable and asking for the urgency we know to be essential. Our goal: 350 letters. BYOS (Bring Your Own Stamps).

How to Get Involved Planning the Event: The best ways to get involved: Do you have a laptop you are willing to share? Fingers that are willing to type? A voice that is willing to speak to everyone you know about this event? Or passionate thoughts you'd like to share with our leaders? Please get in touch and let us know what you are willing to do. At minimum, please show up with your friends and neighbors. We find that a phone call from a friend works better than any flyer, email, or web blog. If you can carpool with them to the event, that would be great. If you can get to the library by bike or on foot, that would be even better. Contact info@tnsmonona.org if you can help in any way.

Event Host: The Natural Step Monona is a grassroots, tax-exempt organization created by friends, neighbors, and area citizens actively participating in fulfilling our mission: to advocate for, educate about, and promote a sustainable Monona. www.tnsmonona.org
