The tree planting & awareness raising was organized by Poonam Yadav of Jaipur Rugs Foundation (JLF) and Becky Band Jain of Isha Foundation & Netsquared Jaipur. The village selected was Kushal Singh ki Dhani, 2 hours from Jaipur. There are many carpet weavers based in this village, and JLF is beginning its capacity-building work for the women in the Self-Help Groups (SHGs). They have already planted 1300 trees in the same area.

At this event, 220 school children and 20 SHG members gathered to discuss the importance of trees. Being based in a dry region, even the young children were well aware of the advantages of trees. They shared that trees can even be used for medicine.

The children and women collected 350 fruit-bearing trees which they later planted near their homes. In the future, the fruit can provide the necessary nutrients that are lacking in their diets.

Following the event, Becky and Mayank Verma of Netsquared Jaipur discussed how the JRF's activities can be better documented through the use of photo and video. They offered to help set up and maintain accounts on Youtube, Flickr and a Facebook Page. They also shared tips on how the website can be improved to clarify the Foundation's activities to the viewer.
