Count weaverbird nests
Sunday, 10 October, 2010 (All day)
PHOWN (Photos of Weaver Nests)
For anyone in South Africa, or even Africa, southern Asia and the Indian ocean islands!
On the 10/10/2010 birders and the general public may attempt to count a total of at least 350 weaver bird nests. Participants can locate a weaver colony near them, or use low carbon means to travel to look for a colony, take a photo and count the nests in the colony. Any number of colonies may be counted and submitted.
To get involved, register as an observer and find a weaver nest or colony on 10/10/10. Visit the website for more information.
Submit the photo, locality and nest count on the day or within 3 days of the event. The number of nests will be summed for all colonies counted on 10/10/10.
