I’m still reeling from 10/10/10.
It’s hard to believe it all really happened—that over 7,000 communities came together in 188 countries for an unprecedented day of unity, collaboration and grassroots climate action.
To me, it almost feels like a dream. Which is why it’s good to have tens of thousands of photos—and hundreds of videos—as proof that it really happened. We’ve mixed together some of these photos and videos into a short, one-minute video. Take a look, and if you like it, please do pass it on:
We’ve also been steadily adding to the slideshows on the front page of 350.org, and more photos continue to stream into our Flickr account every hour. Make sure to take some time to look through these inspiring pictures—they are images of power, hope, and real tangible work for a better world. We made a lot of noise on 10/10/10, and international media outlets like the BBC, CNN, AFP, and more reported on the events. So did thousands of blogs and hundreds of local and national newspapers. But we're not in it for the news coverage—we want real change. Make sure your political leaders heard the noise you made on Sunday, and let them know that you expect them to take bold action on climate change. And we didn't just make noise on 10/10/10, we also did a lot of work. Hundreds of climate solutions projects were launched, hundreds were finished, and many more began bubbling up in conversations in towns and cities that day. To be honest, we’re all still a bit tired—and I’m sure many of you are too. You’ll be hearing less from us over the next couple of weeks, as we regroup and plan for the next steps. We hope you'll be planning too.
There’s lots of work still to be done, but for now, it’s worth pausing to feel proud of the movement you’ve helped create.
