We were immensely inspired when Tunisia and Egypt, through non-violent people power, got unstuck from decades of dictatorship. And we couldn't help but also feel a sense of longing to also get unstuck from the status quo holding back from real climate action across the globe. We aspired to get moving — and that's when we had a thought and sent out the initial invitation to Moving Planet.

Now, it's quite astounding that we are able to unite with our brothers and sisters in Egypt for Moving Planet. They poured through the streets 600+ people strong yesterday forming a "Human Nile" on foot and cycle. The call was out for sustainable, clean solutions to transport and energy for the city that won't contribute to climate-induced water crises predicted to result from climate change.
