The 350 Solutions Revolution is an ambitious bicycle journey across America that anyone is welcome to join. Folks are invited to ride for a day or the whole way. The goals are to shine a light on bicycles, trains, boats, and hybrid electric vehicles as alternatives to flying. To highlight innovative local solutions to climate change in a documentary film and to build an inclusive climate movement by connecting youthful energy with the wisdom of elders and honor the participation of diverse ethnicities, genders, preferences and classes.
Starting August 15, 2010, the team will bike from Portland, Oregon to Washington, D.C. Along the way, they will film a documentary of local communities’ solutions to the climate crisis. On November 19, they will meet with senators in D.C. to share the homegrown solutions with them. Next, they’ll take a train to Florida and sail to Cancun, Mexico for the United Nations Climate Change Conference November 29 – December 10, 2010.
