Do-It-Yourself 350 Art Projects

Check out the ideas below for ways to communicate climate change and the number 350 through art at your action on October 24th. Conveying your message visually is not only important for educating your community, but also important for communicating to the media.

Visit the Action Resources page for more materials and ideas.

350 Flashmobs
Freeze for climate change! Courtesy of 350 advocate and artist Franke James, check out this great idea for catching attention on Oct. 24

350 Roofs - literally, let's shout this from the rooftops! Spell out 350 on your roof to let birds, passing planes, and Google earth know. Anyone have a roof available near the Copenhagen airport?

350 Carbon family portrait - a fun idea for your action photo - look up what the carbon concentration was for the year that each of your relatives was born, put your relatives in order by that year, and create your own Keeling Curve. Or grab a group of friends and stand on a large stairway (perhaps infront of your local government building) and form the ppm graph with your bodies. Don't forget to invite the media!   350 Skit - A short street-theater/movement exercise designed to help reach out and teach people about 350. This would make a great addition to any action, and would be a great way to get a local school or theater group involved.

350x360 Video Project
This video mosaic from all over the world invites you to share a place that you think is worth saving from the effects of climate change. There are places too beautiful to be lost. Where is your favorite place?

350 Postcards Project - this is an ongoing project that's great to do with classrooms

Climate House of Horrors
Halloween is just around the corner from October 24th - carve a 350 into a pumpkin, because the effects of unchecked climate change are the scaries thing we know.

350 Street Theatre - use this fun idea for 350 street theatre to get your message across. From our friends at Asheville 350
