350Freiburg
Samstag, 24 Oktober, 2009 - 12:50
The city of Freiburg, Germany has been a leader in renewable energy and climate protection for decades. As a green capital of the world, Freiburg serves as a model of sustainable urban planning, and acts as a think-tank for global solutions to transition away from fossil fuels.
This fall, several incoming students from all over the planet are descending on Freiburg to embark on a two-year interdisciplinary renewable energy management program at the University of Freiburg. The students will gather together for 350Freiburg on October 24th at 12:50 pm at Johanneskirche and walk to Vauban, the district pioneering the use of renewable energy, energy conservation and efficiency.
For those who bike to the event, Engineers without Borders will provide a "free bicycle repair service" (air+oil, cake for recovery...). So, if anyone needs a bicycle tune-up, join us at 11:00 a.m. to the Platz der alten Synagoge (in front of the KG II). Bring cafe/tea and a cake if possible and meet other 350s. We will walk to Johanneskirche at 12:30 p.m. Bikers can meet in Vauban at the Solar Parking Garage.
