***Environmental Rally***

Join Greenpeace, 1Sky, Progress Ohio, Simply Living's Peak Oil/Global Warming Learning Group, Ohio Student Environmental Coalition, Green Drinks, SEIU Local 1, and UFCW 1059 for a rally at the Statehouse of Ohio, to start at 3:50pm. Hip Hop artist Poitier Pockets will open our rally. We will have a variety of speakers and actions you can take on this important day. Our main speakers are Harvey Wasserman, and Professor Joel Wainwright of OSU. There will also be a video testimony station where you can in about 30 seconds explain why climate change is important to you, also letter writing station to President Obama asking our President to be a leader in Copenhagen, where just 44 days after our rally the world will be creating a new international treaty to address climate change. For those who enjoy pedal power we are inviting a cycling mobilization to the Statehouse as well. We plan to conclude our activities about 5:30pm. Local band "The Town Monster" will preform for us at the rally, and we will end the event with a group photo displaying the number 350.

Also 2 nights before our rally Green Drinks is hosting a panel discussion with Professor Jason Box from OSU, Bryan McGannon from Repower America, and Deb Steele from Greenpeace to discuss climate change and what we are all working on to help solve it. The discussion will be from 6 to 8pm Thursday Oct 22end at Barrio Tapas Lounge, 185 N. High St., Columbus, OH, (614) 220-9141.
