CO2 Toaster Widget

Saturday, 24 October, 2009 - 08:00

The CO2 Toaster widget is LIVE and you can download it at: http://co2now.org/

Our action for October 24th is to launch the "CO2 Toaster widget" which will display, on an on-going basis, the current month's data for atmospheric CO2 from the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Institution at the Mauna Loa Observatory).

The CO2 Toaster widget is an animated widget designed by artist Franke James. It combines lively humor with authoritative NOAA data to track rising atmospheric levels of CO2. It also displays the month's CO2 level from 20 years ago, to give people historical context.

By making this widget freely available across the web, we will be helping viewers to keep track of rising CO2 levels, and also underlining the need to reduce atmospheric CO2 to the safe level of 350ppm.

The CO2 Toaster widget is a creative collaboration between Michael McGee, Founder of CO2Now.org, Franke James, artist & illustrator, and William James, Co-founder, The James Gang.
