11:00 – 5:00----- Compost Giveaway----- 27th & MacDonald (in front of the Library)---- Republic Services - 2 cu. Yards per person, bring shovels & bags, and proof of residence
11:45 – 1:00----- Bike Ride-- Start: Pt. Isabel – Sit & Stay Café
Ride will go along SF Bay Trail, Richmond Greenway and arrive at Main Event at the Library---- Richmond Spokes – Ride will arrive at Greenway for Healing on the Greenway Workshop
10:00-1:00---Workday on Richmond Greenway---6th & Ohio Av.---Urban Tilth - Volunteers will help with planting, harvesting, pruning and top dressing.
12:15-12:45-----Healing on the Greenway--- 6th & Ohio –---- CURME – Attendees including Greenway workday participants & bike riders will be guided through a liaison with the healing plants in the medicine garden. There will be refreshments lovingly created from local gardens in the immediate area.
1:00 – 5:00 Main Event at Richmond Main Library 325 Civic Center Plaza. We'll have food and music and the activities listed below:
• Plant, Tool & Garden Produce Swap/Giveaway - Bring extra plants, bulbs, lightly used garden tools & produce from your garden and swap with your neighbors.
• Food Scrap Pail giveaway - for collecting your compost
• Information Tables (various community organizations)
1:15 – 1:45------Plant Purple Tree Collards and Opening Announcement -----Main Library Community Garden----- Making Waves Education/City Council
2:00 – 2:30-----Presentation: Richmond’s Climate Change Policies-----Community Room at Richmond Library--- Mayor Gayle McLaughlin
2:30 - 3:00------Be part of the Photo to be posted on 350.org along with other world-wide 10-10-10 participants-------------Main Library Community Garden
3:00 – 3:30-----Presentation: Richmond Rivets Transition Town Community Room at Richmond Library--- Richmond Rivets - Addressing climate change by localizing food, water, energy, transportation, housing, etc.
3:00 – 4:30------Workshop: Bike Repair----Richmond Library----- Richmond Spokes, Also see the Jai Bike, a high-quality human powered, green bike for transporting people and goods as an alternative to petroleum & fossil fuel consumption.
4:00 – 4:30------Presentation: Reducing Your Carbon Footprint Community Room at Richmond Library----Marina Bay Green Council – learn and share ideas on how to reduce your carbon footprint
5:00 – 5:30------ Return Bike Ride-----Library to Pt. Isabel----Richmond Spokes
