Today at the UN climate talks in Copenhagen, the Tuvalu delegation called for a legally binding treaty coming out of the negotiations. They were rebuffed by China and India, among others, who made discouraging statements about the potential for a treaty. The talks were suspended for a few hours, at which time an impromptu civil society action took place in support of Tuvalu and a fair, ambitious and binding deal.
