More from the Maldives
It's not just the President of the country and his Cabinet who are mobilizing for 350 in the Maldives. In fact, at times it seems like the entire country has joined in the action. There are currently more than 15 actions registered across the country -- with a population of just 350,000 thousand!
And they are also not waiting until just 24 October to get started. Today our friends at ECOCARE organized thousands of school children to form a huge 350 aerial formation in the Hemveiru Stadium in Male'. Check it out... (more photos, and video, to come).

And there are still more photos from the underwater cabinet meeting to come as well.

Understanding 350
- So, what is global warming and what's the problem anyway?
- And what does this 350 number even mean?
- If we're already past 350, are we all doomed?
- How do we create the political change to steer towards 350?
- How do we get the world on track to get to 350?
- How do we actually reduce carbon emissions to get to 350??
- Will this thing work? Will world leaders listen?
- Where did this 350 number come from?
- Isn't America the biggest source of the problem? What about China and India?
- 350 is just a number. Wouldn't "Climate Emergency" or "Clean Energy Now" be a better call to action?
- And what about all the other targets people are aiming for?
- Why October 24th?
- Why another organization--there are already too many things going on!
- Do you measure 350 in CO2 or CO2e?

Buena suerte.

Concerning my
Environment
I was thinking about my self..
What would be the best idea to protect our environment ?
What can I do my self to protect our environment ?
I am a-10-years old Maldivian My name is Ijaz Jaiz my native place is maathoda, and I am living in Villingili. I've always cared a lot about the climate, and our environment, and the beautiful Earth.
Well, it WAS beautiful before my father said to me. He said he remember when he was young, there weren't so many tall buildings, modern cars, or visitations of providence. So there was less pollution, less noise, and less cry.
Instead, God gave us a nice world for everyone to build up. There were flowers everywhere, and animals as well as plants lived together with us. So were the land and the blue ocean. But nothing stays. So sad. So bad. We all see the situation now.
"why,why,does the tiger fun
why,why,do we shoot the gun
Why,why, why why we throws plastic bags in to the sea and jungle, do we never learn ?
Can someone tell us why we let the forest burn?
Why,why,do we say we care
Tell me why?
Why,why,do we stand and stare
Tell me why?
Why,why,do the dolphins cry
Can someone tell us why we let the ocean die?
Why,why,if we're all the same
Tell me why?
Why,why,do we pass and blame
Tell me why?
Why why does it never end
Can someone tell us why we cannot just be friends?
Why why do we close our eyes
Why why do the greedy life
Why why do we fight for land
Can someone tell us why 'cos we don't understand?
Why,why?"
This song has proved everything we need to care about and to help with!
Let's hope, let's work, let's get a move on!
