Amritapuri Cleanup Drive

9.30am-Noon: The team will meet at the Ashram Ecology Departmet in Amritapuri towards the backwater side. After equipping ourselves with used sacks and sticks for fishing out plasticf and non-degradable waste from the beautiful backwater which is being sullied by litter, we will head back to area around Amritapuri Ashram for a cleanup drive there (time permitting).
1pm Lunch
2.30pm Lunch will be followed by movie screenings
- Helena Norberg-Hodge: Ancient Futures ( This movie has been translated into 42 languages, and is used around the globe by grassroots organizations to raise awareness of economic and sociological aspects of economic globalization, hitherto less considered. A stunning feature film)
- Anni Leonard: Story of Stuff, Story of Bottled Water. ( These movies are short, painlessly informative, and help 'connect the dots' in the huge quagmire of the present day world economy, to its place in the reality of interdependence.)
The screenings will be follwed by discussions and brainstorming sessions over tea.

Holy Mother Amma ( Mata Amritanandamayi ) has given Her emphatic and strong endorsement for getting together in love and service to the Earth. On this day, she will be in Europe, but smiling in our hearts here. We encourage all people of all faiths and creeds to come to the M.A. Math on this day and meet new friends, with a common goal - love and care for our Mother Earth. The ashram provides tasty Indian cuisine at Rs. 10 per person, and a nominal charge for tea in the evening.
